Keno operations fared better in recent months that some of the bigger neighbor’s operations. The information comes from the latest Quarterly City/County Lottery Activity Report released through the Nebraska Department of Revenue. (The state collects its information from the licensees.)
The Cassgram reports that recent news reports centered on decreased keno wagering in the 4th quarter of 2008 in Omaha and Lincoln. Omaha was down about $2.5 million to $16.3 million and Lincoln was down over $400,000 to $5.4 million. Ralston, Papillion and Waverly operations showed modest decreases while Bellevue and LaVista operations experienced increases.
In Cass County, the 4th quarter totals show increased wagering in three of four communities with comparisons available from 2007.
