Injury hit and run leads to arrest.
Cass County deputies responded to a location on Highway 1 approximately one-half mile west of 144th Street about 8:15pm Tuesday.
Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann says a 1996 Ford Thunderbird driven by Lavonne Meisinger, 64, Weeping Water, was eastbound when it was struck in the rear by a 2003 Chevy Silverado, believed to be driven by Daniel McDonnell, 49, Murray. Brueggemann says the pickup did not stop and continued east on Highway 1.
The Cassgram reports a deputy observed the pickup and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver did not stop and the vehicle continued on until it reached the McDonnell residence, according to the report.
McDonnell was booked on suspicion of leaving the scene of an injury accident, driving under the influence (second offense) and flight to avoid arrest. Weeping Water Rescue transported Meisinger to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
