Quick for by firefighters Sunday afternoon kept a swift moving grass fire from getting to houses in a subdivision on the northeast corner of 12th Street and Waverly Road north of Murray.

Murray units were first on scene about 3:30. The fire was reported to be spreading in all directions with three homes threatened. Plattsmouth units responded to the mutual aid call.

Weed trucks made passes around the perimeter and quickly knocked down the flames. (see picture at www.cassgramonline.com)
