A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for areas west of Omaha until 11 p.m.; however, the metro area will likely have thunderstorms on and off throughout the overnight.
The latest request for bids from the Nebraska Department of Roads includes one project that involves a busy highway in Cass County.
The Cassgram reports that bids are being accepted for 9.5 miles of work on Nebraska Highway 50 from Syracuse north into Cass County.
Road and bridge improvements are to begin June 15th. Working days are projected at 135.
The price range is tagged at $4 million to $7 million, according to the notice to contractors. The project is funded under the Federal-Aid Highway Act.
