A 43 year-old Pawnee City woman suffered burns during a fire Thursday morning at her home.

A 43 year-old Pawnee City woman suffered burns during a fire Thursday morning at her home.

The woman’s name has not been released, nor has the extent of her injuries

At 6:22 AM the Pawnee City Fire Department was called to a fire at 1247 D Street. The woman was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Burn Unit in Lincoln.

The State Fire Marshall’s office said the fire was started in a bedroom from smoking.

Damage to the home was estimated at $1500 and $1000 to the contents.
