At least one case of food poisoning in Iowa has been linked to a national outbreak in which more than 400 people have become ill.

State health officials say they have made the match and the strain is the same.

Today it was reported that three deaths are also believed to be connected to the Salmonella outbreak.

The deaths occurred in Virginia and Minnesota.

Health officials say the food poisonings appear to be tied to tainted peanut butter distributed by King Nut Companies of Ohio.

Those products were never sold in stores, but they were used by schools, nursing homes and other institutions that operate cafeterias.

That peanut butter is now being recalled.
