Billy Joel and Elton John are teaming up again for a tour that includes a stop in Omaha on May 12th.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. concert at the Qwest Center go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m. They will be available at the Qwest Center box office and all Ticketmaster outlets. There is a six-ticket limit per customer.

Tickets for the March segment of the Face 2 Face tour immediately sold out in Jacksonville, Phoenix and other cities.

"Billy Joel and Elton John together on one stage is more than a concert, it will be an incomparable night of music," says Qwest Center CEO Roger Dixon. "We are excited to welcome these two legendary performers back to Omaha."

Why did Ticketmaster take down the listing?

People listen to older music because there isn't anyone original these days. The newer music is just a rehash of older stuff grossly oversimplified. Furthermore if any band can actually play kids and younger adults don't consider it hardcore or extreme enough. Classical-rock-rap/death metal. Proof that evolution can work in reverse.

The reason bands from the 60's, 70's 80, do so good is thats when the last thing music worthy came out..or at least original. I haven't heard anything worth a crap come out in years, and I guess most people agree because even the top artists of today only play to smokerooms or run down areana's unless it's the country artists which I can't listen to, and rap music..well don't even get me started, thats not even closeley related to good tunes.

To KJ What 21st century band that will sell out at the Qwest center are you suggesting play here?

Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 14, 2009 at 10:48 AM
"Immediately sold out" -- yeah, to the scalpers who will then jack up the prices so high no one will be able to purchase the tickets. Not that the venues or bands care -- they HAVE their money.

Dear "anonymous" apparently you don't read much, evertime a story comes out about the qwest center, someone complains, just like they complain about the ballpark. Who really wants omaha to be on the map? and bring in more money in 10 days to this town than anything else? So, before you call someone a moron, read up please.

I agree with the comment by Dennis. Why does Omaha continue to listen to that era of music? (Late 70's and 80's). Life is about experiencing new thoughts and ideas. Like the dinosaurs, Elton John and Billy Joel had their time of existence. It's time to move on to the 21st century folks.

The Ames show was good. i was there. 1995 maybe? Anyway, I won't pay for this one. Too much money. As for the moron who says "where are the people complaining about the Qwest now?" Most people don't complain about it, because they voted on it, unlike the downtown folley being rammed down our throats.

im more than happy to go for the music and the atmosphere and pay 47.50!!

Awesome! I will be there!

I have yet to see a concert at the Qwest. One reason is price. Im not paying $200 for 2 tickets of someone I heard 70,000 times on radio. Sure they had good music back in the 70's and 80's but what new songs have they written LATELY?

Posted by: Terry on Jan 13, 2009 at 03:47 PM
I guess they need the money. $177 for the good seats. I saw them both on their own here a couple years ago. I like having good seats but but ticket prices give me second thoughts. With fees and taxes $400 for 2 tickets.

I saw Billy Joel when he last came to Omaha a year or so ago, one of the best showes I've seen....The dude can still play...I think I can do without Elton John tho!

Posted by: troy on Jan 13, 2009 at 03:27 PM
ok, where are all the people that said the qwest was a bad idea? and to complain about a "geriatric"??? they sell out the qwest, how many younger groups can do that? thats why they play at the MAC or sokol or some of the other great venues here in omaha! Im sure if Slipknot could sell it out, they would book it! And if you want younger groups, look at those that are here in the next couple months.. buck cherry, slipknot, avenged sevenfold, Papa roach...

Exactly cheryl! That tells me how old they are to have THAT many albums. I'm sure you'll see plenty of walkers and wheelchairs at that show, and that's just from the band.

Posted by: cheryl on Jan 13, 2009 at 02:55 PM
Geriatric!! What kind of a comment is that - they have how many albums out between the two - way more than you can even count you idiot!!

Posted by: Awesome on Jan 13, 2009 at 02:24 PM
Saw these two together in Ames, IA a few years back. Great show!

Posted by: Joe on Jan 13, 2009 at 02:11 PM
Wow. Can we get any more geriatric concerts at the Qwest? Would have been cool to see in the mid 80's.
