At a time when job losses continue to increase, a new data center in Papillion will bring 25 new jobs to the metro with the possibility of 125 more down the road.

An Omaha-based company, CoSentry, and Alegent Health are co-developing a $26 million data center at Alegent's Midlands Hospital campus. The new center will store medical records for Alegent.

CoSentry Vice President Manny Quevedo said Tuesday that about 25 people will be employed in the first phase, which should be finished this fall. He said the construction of another 24,000 square feet is anticipated two to three years later, which could bring total employment to 150 new hires.

The company has nearly 200 employees with operations in Bellevue, Sioux Falls and Kansas City.
