Two children were placed in the care of the state and their mother arrested the Cassgram reports. Plattsmouth Police have released details of an incident that occurred about 7:45am Friday.
A passing motorist called police to report a young child was wandering around in the mobile home park at 504 North 22nd Street. Police arrived and found the child, and then located the mother and another child outside a residence at lot #3.
Officers determined both children had gotten out of the residence and were out in 30 degree weather. One of the children, a three-year-old girl was wearing only footed pajamas. A four-year-old boy was wearing only an oversized t-shirt and underwear, said police.
Police checked the inside of lot #3, where the children lived. Officers found what they termed unsafe and unsanitary conditions. At the conclusion of the investigation, both children were placed in the care of Health and Human Services and their mother, 28-year-old Kristy Bohanan, was booked for two counts of child abuse. She posted bond and was released from county jail on Saturday.
