Cass County bulding code fees will increase about 15% this week.
The Cassgram reports that Cass County Commissioners gave their approval to a request from Zoning/Building Inspector Jim Ruhge to increase the fees starting January 15th.
Ruhge said the fees had not been revised for about 10 years and the county’s fees amounted to about $500 to $700 less than what other zoning/inspection offices in the area are charging.
Rather than increasing fees all at once to match other offices, Ruhge suggested the county raise fees a little bit at a time.
He said the fees on an average house in the county will go from about $1500 to about $1700 when the new schedule goes in effect Thursday.
