70 full-time workers learn Friday will be their last day at the Nebraska truck trailer plant.

The AP reports Great Dane Trailers in Wayne told the 70 full-time workers that because of declining sales, Friday will be their last day. All 70 had been hired last year.

Vice President Brandie Fuller says the layoffs are temporary, so the workers could get hired back if business picks up. She says after the layoffs, the plant will have about 330 workers.

The Wayne plant is one of eight operated by Great Dane, which is based in Savannah, Ga.

Wayne is a couple of dozen miles northeast of Norfolk in northeast Nebraska's Wayne County.
