An unusual scene unfolded at a Heartland K-Mart store, as an employee chased a shoplifter out of the store, she jumped into a waiting car and made her getaway.

It happened on Monday, December 29th at the 134th and West Maple K-Mart.

According to the police report, at about 10am, a woman with a fully loaded shopping cart made a mad dash through the security sensors and doors.

An employee spotted her and gave chase.

Once outside in the parking lot the woman stopped next to a car, opened a back door and started throwing merchandise into the back seat.

The employee was yelling at her to stop, and as he neared the woman she pushed the cart away, got in the passenger's seat and the car sped away.

Officials are not sure what was stolen in the incident, but know what the woman did not have time to throw in the back of the car.

Left behind in the cart was a Dyson vacuum cleaner, a paint ball gun set, and two flat iron hair straighteners.

The employee who gave chase tells investigators the getaway car was a bluish gray 4 door, Lexus or Infiniti. He was able to give police a partial license plate number.
