New Movie Filmed In Nebraska

The Cassgram reports that ‘April Showers’ , The movie filmed in Plattsmouth, Omaha and other areas this past spring is nearing release. Many local residents served as extras.

The new website was launched about two weeks ago. It encourages comments from those involved in the filming and announces the progress in the movie production. contains a calendar that will include show times, dates and locations. Clips from the film and some behind-the-scene production segments are also posted.

The film is based on events, mainly the events afterward, of the mass shootings at Columbine High School in Colorado on April 20th, 1999. April Showers’ writer/director Andrew Robinson was a student at the school at the time.

Robinson’s announcement: "I will release "April Showers" in theaters across this country in one-week intervals with my portion of the ticket sales going directly to groups and organizations responsible for making a difference in young peoples’ lives within the community that film is playing in.

I will be asking our partners and exhibitors to match a portion or all of our contributions as well." He stresses the money will go to "schools, school districts, programs within schools, scholarships, law enforcement funds, law enforcement offices, community centers, tolerance and acceptance programs.
