The Nebraska Small Business Development Center is one of four university programs nationwide chosen to help small businesses become more energy efficient. The University of Nebraska at Omaha program will share in $500,000 in grant money from the U.S. Small Business Administration. The other universities are in New York, Nevada and Idaho.

Officials say all four of the university programs proposed innovative and practical ways to help businesses become more efficient. UNO will provide energy efficiency screening and help businesses find ways to pay for energy efficiency improvements.
