An Omaha Police officer took bold initiative on Thanksgiving Day, and may have saved some of Omaha's historical treasures.
According to police reports, officers were called to the Ford Birth site in the early afternoon on Thursday, November 27th.
A man and his family were visiting the Ford Birth site when they noticed one of the kiosks was damaged. Upon further inspection it was discovered one of the kiosk's windows could easily be removed.
With no other option available, one Omaha Police officer decided to take the plaques, pictures, and documents from that kiosk, and booked them into Omaha Police Headquarters for safe keeping.
The officer's name was not immediately available.
