A packaging and crate company has ceased its operations in Beatrice.

Nebraska Department of Labor officials say 19 jobs were lost when North American Containers Corp. closed up shop at the former Husqvarna building. At one time, the company supplied packaging materials to Husqvarna Turf Care, which made power mowers.

North American Containers is based in Marietta, Georgia.

I am sure the last thing the business wanted to do is close especially before the holidays. It is heartbreaking for an owner not only to lose their business but to have other suffer. Also think of the owner that may have done all he could but hecause of our leadership the past 8 years has lost a business, a job and his pride.
