Some University of Nebraska-Lincoln engineering students will soon be learning the importance of taste in their technology. They will have to eat their next project.

Students in Dennis Schulte's introductory biological systems and agricultural engineering class are preparing edible cars for E-Day festivities on Dec. 9 at the Nebraska East Union. The cars made by the teams of three or four freshmen must be made of food only and must be eaten at the end of the competition.

Teams place their cars so they can roll down a sloped track. The car that goes the farthest is the winner.

E-Day is a special university day for engineers. Seniors show off their engineering projects, and engineering companies set up displays.
