As we bundle up to face the colder weather, blankets and space heaters are flying off the shelves at the Open Door Mission. Officials say it's the working poor and near-homeless who live in their own homes that are most in need.

"Almost as soon as a donation of blankets or space heaters arrives, they're out the door with recipients," says Candace Gregory, President/CEO of the Mission. "They will be used to provide warmth in residences with drafty doors and windows."

Donations can be dropped off at 2828 N. 23rd Street East anytime Monday through Saturday, 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM.

Perhaps the landlords of these individuals should also pitch in and help seal up those drafty doors and windows??????????
