The former Class One schoolhouse known as Stull School will again have children on the premises, but as a child care facility. Some final zoning matters must be completed first according to the Cassgram.
The Plattsmouth School District took over Stull when the Nebraska Legislature ordered Class One (K-8) Districts to merge with K-12 districts in 2006 and the Plattsmouth district closed the school before the 2007-2008 school year.
The Stull property has been for sale and will remain for sale, but the district has agreed to a $1,000 a month lease with Theresa Sherman, operator of the child care facility.
The district has been asking $100,000 for the property.
According to terms of the lease agreement, if Sherman decides to purchase the property within the first three months, all lease payments to that point will be deducted from the purchase price. The agreement also states Sherman has the right to match any bona fide purchase offer from someone else and purchase the property herself.
