Police are searching for two people involved in a home invasion in Northeast Omaha, Wednesday. A vehicle taken during that robbery turned up early Thursday morning, crashed near Northwest Radial Highway and Blondo Street.
A spokesman for Omaha police tells Channel 6 News the home invasion happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday near 32nd and Ohio Streets. Officer Jacob Bettin says two suspects entered the residence with guns. They took property from the victim, including a 2007 Ford F-150.
Douglas County Sheriff's deupties later reported seeing the truck, during a convenience store shoplifting near 189th and Q Streets. At 12:42 a.m., the truck was spotted near 42nd and Parker Streets.
Police eventually located the stolen vehicle, which crashed into a rock wall at Northwest Radial Highway and Blondo Street. Witnesses say they saw two people running in opposite directions.
Officers canvassed the neighborhood, but the suspects have not been found.
