Check cashing businesses around the metro were on alert Tuesday after three robberies or attempted robberies in less than 90 minutes.

Two men hit check cashing outlets at 120th and Blondo, 84th and J and 33rd and L streets.

The manager of the American Check Casher on L Street said safety is their top priority and warned employees at other area check cashing businesses.

"I just told them, any guys come in and they've got sweatshirts, hoods over their heads, just reach over and hit the panic button instantly,” said Deborah Dady.

Law enforcement officers made two traffic stops in their search for the suspects, but so far there's no word of any arrests.

To Pete: Thanks! Pete. You made a very valid point! But, you have to admit, Money-changers fill the Earth. Probably a little if not too! much. They can be `outrageous lenders. Christ wouldn't have crashed the money-changer's businesses that day, the way he did over 2,008 years ago[the Stock Exchange so-to-speak was in the temple there in Jerusalem] had they really gotten the message & were found faithfully praying instead of using his `House for conducting business/money changing hands! I will say this as well. I noticed some of the various advance pay-check businesses along a stretch of Saddle Creek Road & it didn't set well with me. There was something too easy about how they were just waiting to take advantage of disadvantaged hard-working people who were strapped for cash. My, how we love getting/making money the easy way. Bottom line: America has got to flourish again. That means doing things the right! way. It might require hard work. But if done right!= everybody wins! Pray :-|

Anonymous, what a dreadful thing to say! I don't like the check cashing stores, but they do serve a purpose. And to try to justify armed robbery just does not fly.

I'm glad someone robbed them, thats what they do to their customers!!! It was probably someone who has done business with them.

Hey, aren't all three of those places posted with "No Concealed Firearms" signs? Those signs are supposed to magically keep all the guns out! Hmm, maybe those signs don't work after all.
