SoDak, you are so right. In Nebraska, we have these inane "gun free zones" as conceived by brainless people afraid of shooting themselves in the foot. They assume a criminal will see the sign and stow his gun in the car before carrying out his planned crime, sans gun. Unfortunately, the criminals have proven themselves smarter than the brainless people with holes in their feet. Criminals realize that a gun free zone means no honest person is carrying a gun, so they should be labeled "safe for crime zones". We Nebraskans as a whole are too proud to learn from our own mistakes. We're still mourning last year’s loss of nine lives shot in a gun free zone, where no one was ready to respond with a gun. The police were praised for responding quickly, but the shooter had already killed himself, so "quickly" was too late. That mall is still a gun free zone, because shoppers feel safer with fewer guns only in the hands of criminals. So, what are the weather and jobs like in South Dakota?

SoDak, our state thinks a gun will turn us into vigilantes. And we are not responsible enough to carry in a bank. By no means am I condoning bank robberies or other crimes but what do you think happens when the economy tanks? The government should give the money to the people and then it will boost our economy. I still dont understand how giving these financial institutions the money is going to help me.

In South Dakota, CCW permit holders can legally carry a concealed firearm into banks. Here's your project for today - find the last time that a bank in SD was robbed by anyone that actually displayed a firearm, and if the robber was a CCW permit holder. Here's a hint: Quite a while, and "no".

Maybe he wanted to be identified. He had to know about the cameras...oh and LOL...you are right in some cases but Seriously look at the lawyers, judges and polititions! They collaborate in their criminal element and get paid for it too!

Why don't these banks do something to protect their employees and customers, from these holdups. They need to check out the US Bank on north 30th. It has bullet proof glass from the counter to the ceiling. You have no access to reach a teller. You have to pass your transactions through a small opening. I have never heard of this bank being robbed. These banks need to take some action to protect people. I have been in some banks, that don't even have a security guard. There are too many gun toting nuts out there.

Thank god, it was only a note passer and not something more violent.

He obviously wasn't very smart. That picture of him is pretty good...he didn't even try to hide his face. Just goes to show that criminals really aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. This actually made me laugh. I'm glad no one was hurt and this idiot was too dumb to even try to disguise himself. I hope they catch him soon...someone will turn him in soon.
