A security guard stopped a crime in progress, beating the suspect with his own gun.

Police say 26-year-old Alejandro Zamora of Omaha asked for a ride from people in a car near 30th and L streets. When told the car was full, he pulled out a gun and ordered two passengers out of the car before getting inside. A security guard working at the location saw what was going on and approached the car. Zamora pointed the gun at the security guard, who grabbed the gun and started beating Zamora with it until he let go.

Zamora was treated for his injuries at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and released to police. He faces first-degree false imprisonment, assault, battery, and felony weapons charges.
