Website Seminar Questions
Jan Kirkpatrick attended a seminar for building your own website to sell items on line. Jan said, “Everyone there was looking to make money”
But a hidden camera investigation by Six On Your Side found it will cost anyone attending to become an on line mogul.
Jan said, “By the time they finished with us it could be $6,000.”
A Six On Your Side investigation found that Attorneys General in 10 states have taken legal action against the software company called Storesonline.
In most complaints customers who paid Storesonline had trouble using the website built for them to sell on line products.
Nebraska Attorney general Jon Bruning has negotiated additional training for 16 customers. Bruning considers Storesonline to be less than customer friendly.
The Better Business Bureau investigated 587 complaints about the seminars nationwide.
Omaha BBB president Jim Hegarty said, “Some consumers attending this seminar, making a down payment then find the product difficult to use.”
The legal counsel for Storesonline responded to the complaints.
Jeff Korn said, “Some people just don’t use it and want a refund and they’ll claim things that aren't’t there. Some people might not understand what they purchased I’ll concede that. But we fully disclose what we do.”
The Better Business Bureau warns that anyone considering a home based business opportunity should research the offer before paying any fees or signing contracts.
