Closed Bridge Affects Small Town
The temporary closing of the Missouri River toll bridge has taken somewhat of a toll on local businesses.
On the Cassgram delivery route, we asked several business people on Highway 34 about the economic impact they noticed while the bridge was being repaired. Some definitely felt the effects; others continued with the same amount or more business.
The bridge closed in early May and is to re-open this weekend.
It was obvious that it’s Plattsmouth’s edge in customer service that draws some Iowa residents across the bridge.
