The Salvation Army's Tree of Lights has become a holiday tradition in Omaha. A parade of sorts was held Friday to transport the tree from Brite Ideas Decorating to the American National Bank at 90th and Dodge.

It took 50 volunteers about five hours to set up the tree. They'll get started Saturday on decorating it. The tree itself has 450 brilliant starbursts, more than 40,000 LED lights and weighs in at 60,000 pounds.

The tree will be lit at the annual kickoff for the Tree of Lights Campaign on Friday, November 14th at 6 p.m. Singer Heidi Joy will perform.

When the Salvation Army reaches its Tree of Lights fundraising goal, the five-and-a-half-foot star on top will flash.

They should be ashamed of themselves for ruining the holiday season. Are we no longer allowed to enjoy THANKSGIVING? I believe it's at the end of the month... and then one month after that is CHRISTMAS.. idiots.

November 14th is too early. Can we please get through Thanksgiving first! They should light the tree on Nov. 28.
