Several Heartland businesses have been broken into, the burglars grabbing what they can in just a few minutes, several of the break-ins are remarkably similar.

Three of them were reported in a two hour period on Tuesday, October 28th.

Amato Foods at 64th and Center reports someone threw a large rock through the glass door, grabbed the register and ran out. There was no money in the till, but the cost to replace the glass and register is estimated around $700.

The second report from that morning comes from the Dairy Queen on 131st and Maple. In this instance a rock or concrete block was thrown through glass door, the register ripped from the counter. Total cost to replace the glass and register, $1800.

The third report Omaha Police took Tuesday morning came in from Harker's BBQ at 48th and Center. Again a large rock was thrown through the door, but in this incident the burglar took two of the businesses cash registers, and a personal computer. Estimated cost of the damage and stolen items is $4,000.
