Pain Pill Ring
An Omaha woman has been sentenced to more than 5 years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute Oxycodone, a prescription pain reliever.
Letitia Wofford, 44, is one of 15 individuals who have been indicted in connection with this distribution scheme.
In June of 2004, the FBI and Nebraska State Patrol began investigating the illegal possession and distribution of Oxycodone, a powerfully addictive narcotic drug available only by prescription.
Investigators say Wofford received Oxycodone by prescription in 2004 and delivered the pills to someone else who, in turn, resold the pills in the Omaha area. In a 9-month period, Wofford obtained and resold 800 pills.
