Emergency crews were called to Levi Carter Lake just before 7:30 Tuesday morning for a possible water rescue.

The crews were dispatched after a caller reported seeing a car partially submerged in the water. Officers at the scene found the car but it was empty. Shortly after crews arrived on the scene the owner of the car reported it stolen.

Tracks leading from a nearby road show where the car was driven off the pavement, across a grassy area and into the water.
