For three generations Nelson’s Food Pride has sold groceries in Oakland Nebraska. The city bills itself as Nebraska’s Swedish Capitol. For decades Nelson’s Food Pride has set itself apart by offering a variety of Swedish specialties alongside its other foods.

The Swedish fare brought business from all around the area but now the store is reaching out to customers outside the region through the Internet.

In September Nelson’s Food Pride launched a Web site designed specifically to market its Swedish food.

Owner Julie Nelson says she is excited about expanding her horizons.
In December of 2007 Channel Six News visited Nelson’s Food Pride. You can see that story by clicking on the video linked to this story.
