The man convicted of killing 12-year-old Amber Harris will not get a new trial.

A judge has declined the request from Roy Ellis. Ellis' attorneys claimed prosecutors didn't release all the details of an agreement they had with a jailhouse informant who testified against Ellis. The informant told the court he heard Ellis talk about raping and killing Amber Harris.

Ellis has not yet been sentenced for the murder. Jurors who convicted Ellis found him eligible for the death penalty. The final decision on the sentence will be made by a three judge panel.

I'll be watching to see what sentence this panel of judges will give. He deserves the death sentence based on the heinous nature of this crime. What a waste of space.

Why does it take so long to sentence someone once they're found guilty? Once they're convicted, that should be it. Stop wasting time and money!

Haven't we spent enough of our tax dollars on this "animal"? Give him the same justice that he gave his victims. As far as I am concerned he should not have been out roaming the streets looking for a young victim after the other crimes that he has done. When is our justice system going to tighten down on these life long criminals so that our precious children no longer have to suffer at the hands of someone like Roy Ellis?

This is good. The man has had enough attention and has put this family through enough.

This freak deserves NOTHING. If he gets off on a technicality we all need to arm ourselves and take care of justice like the Old West.
