An Omaha teen was wounded Sunday morning after an exchange of thrown beer bottles ended in gunfire.

Eighteen-year-old Juan Rodriguez told police he and his friends started throwing beer bottles at the suspect around 1 a.m. at South 36th Avenue and Y Street.

The suspect threw them back, then left and returned opening fire. Rodriguez was hit and taken to the Nebraska Medical Center by private vehicle. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

The suspect drove away from the scene.
