Authorities say a 3-year-old Johnson County girl has died after being pulled unresponsive from a stock tank her family was using as a pool.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says Abby Miller died Tuesday at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She'd been flown to the hospital after found underwater in the stock tank a little before 11:30 a.m. Monday. Abby had been playing in the water with her siblings.
Emergency personnel say the girl's mother was trying to resuscitate Abby when they arrived.
The family's property sits about six miles southwest of Iowa City.
