If I was dumb enough to be a "drive by shooter", just think how much dumber I would feel if I couldnt even KILL someone with shuch a cowardly shot at an unsuspecting bystander. LOOSERS!

Here's a challenge to the news media--let's not report any shootings anywhere in the city--unless it is something like Von maur. Let's report only the positive teen news for one week. What will happen? the news report can be covered in 15 minutes--including sports and the weather. Will never happen. Even in our town the rule is still if it bleeds it leads.

Who really cares anymore? Everytime you watch the news, someone in that area is being shot and surprise the police have no information because I'm sure noone will say anything and I'm sure that guy wasn't there by himself. There needs to be a mandatory curfew in that area because noone has any business being out there late at night. Maybe if that kids parents had imposed a curfew on him, he wouldn't have been shot.

Why does this continue to be news?

Said it before and I'll say it again. If these children were home and in there beds they wouldnt be getting shot in the middle of the night.

It is getting worse in this town. The gang bangers are getting younger and younger. My family could have been injured in that shooting. Why aren't the parents of these young kids doing something to help prevent things like this. It isn't safe to walk down the street anymore or sit on the front porch. Is this really what we want our city to be like? Is the next generation going to live long enough to look back and regrett some of this stuff or are they going to bring a new generation thats only way to communicate is threw gun fire? There is no piont or sence in killing a man or a child for teritory that doesn't belong to you anyway. This is not what people go to war for or what some of this countries greatest leader fought for. If any thing this is what they would have fought against. Is it possible to stop the violence?I would like to be able to sit outside at night and not wonder if a bullet is going to come at me or my children. When will it stop?

The 38th & Grand neighborhood AGAIN?! Seems like someone needs to get a handle on that entire 8-square block area and crack it down! I think the police could just park a cruiser and wait for a shooting and then arrest the perpetrators immediately. Eventually everyone will be in jail and the violence will stop.

why is a seventeen year old out on the streets and not at home at that hour! Clean up your act, don't complain about crime and hang around on streets late at night. go home and read a book or something!

No, you can't have a weekend without violence in the I-80/I-680 "shooting gallery". Go take a look here, and see where the shooting incidents happen: http://www.spotcrime.com/omaha True, crime occurs all over, but we've got to be honest and admit that it's heavily disproportionate in one part of Omaha.
