Democrats formally nominated Illinois Sen. Barack Obama as the party's nominee for president Wednesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

They did that with a state-by-state roll call. Here's a portion of Nebraska's presentation.

“Home of that statesman, great statesman William Jennings Bryan, who received the Democratic nomination for president here in Denver exactly 100 years ago,” said Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson.

“Home of the Cornhuskers who unite all of Nebraskans, Democrats, Republicans, Independents on game day Saturdays, proudly casts three votes for Sen. Clinton and 28 votes for the next president of the United States, Barack Obama!"

DB: The victim mantality will not get you far in life. Who said vote for him because he is Black? Your mind is really working overtime, give it a rest.

I guess my question is- Is there a defining moment in his career that he can show EXACTLY how he cares for the people. Either way- is there such a moment?

To:Stephanie - He has talked about change - I wish he would let us in on his secret. He doesnt have the EXPERIENCE nor the love for his country for me to vote for him.

Anonymous: You would rather pay for a war rather than sending Americans to college? Why is it that this country can find money for war but not education? You think taxing "Big Oil" is a bad idea? What about forcing "Big Oil" to develop fuel alternatives that will keep this country out of silly wars over oil? I don't know if Obama is the candidate to change this country but I do know that most Americans are too lazy to do any real research on either candidate. So we get the government we deserve!

Right lets vote for someone just because he is black. That shows how uneducated and uniformed people really are. I am sick of the if it feels good lets do it mentality. The guy has 140 more days of experience than I do. I'm white, but I'm not voting for him because he is black, I'm not voting for him because I love my country to much to see someone make us week and destroy it. I would vote for Condoleezza Rice though. She is strong and has a life of experience.

I believe that one should vote based on they stand for and what they intend to do in office...not on the color of their skin. At this point, I am registered Rep and don't intend on changing that. With that said, I think it's wonderful that finally we have an person of color nominated for President. It does put the 'Dream' into reality. Judge for the content of character not color of skin..and that goes for all races.

This comment is for TJ.. The World would probably be a better place if Obama is elected. It's because of people like you that the world is the way it is now. We should all believe in a Change and we need to believe that Obama can make that change.

Our Savior, The Annoited One and the Messiah all rolled into one. My Lord, a miracle has taken place in Denver. The world will be in a hurt if HE is elected. I'll pick McCain over Obama anyday.

This just shows us that the Hatriots (democrats) will back anybody just because..... What a sad state of affairs when liberal men and women will vote for somebody OVER the security of their nation. Shame on you Ben Nelson.

And who's going to pay for all the things he wants to give us (supposedly), like free college for volunteering? And how can we afford his tax increases? You like your tax breaks? You want to keep more of your own money? Should he win the day, say bye-bye to your money--I can hear the whoosing sound now. And I don't need more governmental controls on my life. Doesn't anyone remember Jimmy Carter and what a mess he made by taxing big oil? And Obama wants to do the same just to give us all $1000? What is that going to do for us?

One Big Happy Family. It is always nice to see what a person stands for- and who he stands with.
