For the second straight night, a stretch of Interstate 80 in Omaha had to be closed due to an accident Wednesday evening that injured three people.

The Omaha Police Traffic Unit says a car was going at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic before the driver lost control and slammed into the concrete median just west of 84th Street shortly before 6:30 p.m.

The speedometer of the wrecked Camaro was stuck on 120 mph. The driver, 25-year-old Brian Kimball, is hospitalized in critical condition. He had to be cut from the vehicle.

The two passengers were identified as 24-year-old Corey Armstrong and 22-year-old Allysen Clausen. Armstrong was treated for minor injuries and released. Clausen complained of neck pain, but did not require any medical treatment.

Investigators say alcohol and speed appear to have been factors in the crash.

A witness tells Channel 6 News he heard the brakes lock up and then saw the car spinning wildly after hitting the barrier.

Traffic was rerouted onto the 84th Street exit ramp for three hours to allow for debris to be removed from all westbound lanes. One lane reopened around 9:30 p.m., the rest by about 10 p.m.

Tuesday night, a hit-and-run involving two cars and a road construction worker had the westbound lanes of I-80 shut down near 32nd Street.
