Another case of West Nile has been confirmed in Nebraska. This one is in Douglas County. It is the second case in the state so far this year.

Health officials say a woman under the age of 21 is recovering after being hospitalized briefly this month.

Earlier this week a man in Merrick County was diagnosed with West Nile.

Most people who are infected with the virus have mild flu-like symptoms if any at all.

I find it strange that it is just now being reported that these cases of west nile are here as my oldest daughter was diagnosed with west nile 5 weeks ago. She has shown very few syptoms as of yet but the cdc has been to our home and she is going into her third visit for another test to see if she still has west nile next week. People need to be made aware that this has not gone away! All of us have also been diagnosed with rocky mountain spotted fever but I havent seen anything about it or precautions to be taken for it. I would like to see people be more aware of these things and how they can prevent this from happening to thier children.
