Twenty-six people were displaced by a two-alarm fire at the LionsHead Apartments near 108th, west of I-680 around 1 o'clock Friday morning.

Firefighters say the flames traveled up the walls into the attic, spreading along the roof line.

All residents were able to safely escape the building.

Authorities say fire damage was limited to the outside of the building but there is extensive smoke and water damage to six of the 24 apartments that were affected.

The Red Cross is assisting residents.

As far as I know, this is the first time that it has had a fire. You may be thinking of Lionsgate in Lincoln.

Why did the residents not hear smoke alarms? Third floor tenants were only awakened by persistent buzzing to their apt by a man at the front door - thank god he stayed with it.
