A Bellevue man told Omaha Police he was assaulted at a bus stop at 17th and Dodge streets Saturday night.

Twenty-six-year-old Ross Johnson says two men approached him around 9 p.m. and demanded money. When he refused, they attacked him and ran off.

Johnson sought help at the nearby Doubletree Hotel and was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.

Humm, I wasn't really happy to lose Rosenblatt either, but we were going to lose the CWS, but I'd rather get a new stadium than hear you COMPLAIN NASTILY for the next 25 years about the tax raise we got to keep our police force.

Like this stuff never happens anywhere else in the country!

It's not that OPD wasn't standing next to this guy at the bus-stop, but they aren't doing enough to stop the criminals from victimizing people. Or finding these people and putting them in jail. My parents were victims in that same neighborhood having all of their stuff stolen just moments after checking into the hotel and OPD made no effort to investigate. There were visable fingerprints everywhere, thousands of $ stolen, the thieves used a gift card at a gas station minutes away. I'm sure there was video there, but OPD wouldn't even send an officer. Leave a message... an officer will call you back and give you a report number to use for your insurance should you choose to file a claim... How does that help stop these criminals?

OPD's fault? How? Remember people, the police show up AFTER it has happened. AFTER the call for help has been made. Learn how to protect yourself. Do what you can to avoid putting yourself in situations that there is no one around. Criminals don't like crowds and witnesses. Oh, and there is that CONCEALED CARRY law for those that aren't scared to protect themselves.

Not far from that new stadium we just HAVE TO HAVE! I can't wait to hear OPD's excuses when one of the tourists from the CWS get robbed! That will be the best publicity Omaha could get! Omaha will then have impressed the entire country and people will go the other way! Way to go OPD!!!! Keep up the good...errrr...what ever it is you do........?

OPD can not be everywhere. This man was at a bus stop, get off OPD's case. Or better yet, become a cop and see what they go through.

To citizen: So was it OPDs fault this guy was assaulted? I'm having trouble figuring out your comment. Is OPD supposed to be everywhere before a crime happens? You should probably stay home and never leave if you expect that.

Ahhh, OPD, To Serve and Protect.
