$25 Million Bond To Go Before Voters

OMAHA A new bond issue will go before voters in November after a vote from the Douglas County Board of Commissioners.

Commissioners approved a resolution on Tuesday that places a $25 million bond issue on the November 4th ballot.

The bond would renovate the public safety communication facility at 156th and Maple. Some of the money would be earmarked for operations and equipment needed by the County Treasurer and County Department of Environmental Services.

The resolution language includes wording that would allow commissioners to opt for new construction instead of renovations if it ends up being more cost effective.
