A judge denied bond Thursday to 29-year-old Johnny Rix, a day after he was formally charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the death of his wife.

The body of 34-year-old Sonia Rix was found in the couple's home at 118th Street and Cryer Avenue on Monday.

Authorities found her body there while investigating a case that began when Johnny Rix jumped off the roof of a strip mall sandwich shop. He had threatened to jump while holding a four-year-old boy. He put the child down before stepping over the edge.

Two one-year-old twins were found in the home on Cryer. They were not hurt.

Johnny Rix faces a preliminary hearing in August.
