Weekend party leads to 22 minors being cited for possession of alcohol.
Last Saturday, at 10:26 p.m., La Vista police officers responded to a 911 call of a large party at 8637 S. 99th Circle.
Upon arrival, officers observed numerous vehicles parked on the street and several people standing outside the residence. Officers were allowed into the residence and observed a large amount of young adults in the kitchen and living room area, along with open beer cans throughout the house.
Due to the number of people present, additional manpower from the Papillion Police, Sarpy County Sheriff, and Nebraska State Patrol was requested.
Once additional manpower was on-scene, officers continued their investigation which resulted in 22 minors being cited for underage drinking (Minor in Possession of Alcohol) and the host of the party, a 17-year-old, was cited for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and Procuring Alcohol for a Minor.
Several minors at the party had not been drinking and were released without charges.
Minor in Possession is a Class 3 misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than $500 and/or imprisonment up to three months.
Procuring Alcohol and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor is a more serious charge (Class 1 misdemeanor) that can result in a fine up to $1000 fine and/or imprisonment up to one year.
