An autopsy has determined that an Avoca, Iowa man found dead inside a partially submerged car in Mosquito Creek last Friday died from a skull fracture.

Investigators are still looking into what caused 36-year-old Paul Freeman to veer off the road near Weston, just northeast of Iowa Western Community College. Toxicology results should be in later this week.

The vehicle was discovered by a bridge inspector who called emergency crews.

It's believed Freeman was on his way home from a meeting in Council Bluffs when he crashed.
