A 2-year-old Omaha girl is recovering after being hit by her mother's SUV backing out of a driveway Saturday afternoon.
Police say Alaya Grayer was dropped off at a baby-sitter's residence near North 38th and Chicago streets just before 4 p.m. When her mother began to drive away, the girl ran from the front porch toward the vehicle and became pinned between the front passenger side tire and fender.
