Authorities have identified a child who died in a Nebraska City house fire Thursday morning as three-month-old Sierra Snyder. Her three-year-old brother, Gunnar Snyder, was resuscitated at the scene and flown to the hospital in critical condition.
A passerby saw flames and called 911 shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday.
Another passerby stopped to help and found a woman, Tina Snyder, standing outside holding a baby. That child has been identified as Makenzie Snyder, the twin sister of the child who died. The woman indicated that more of her children were still inside the burning house.
Gunnar Snyder was taken to Children's Hospital for treatment but subsequent condition updates have not been available.
Tina Snyder's husband is identified as Dave Snyder.
Authorities were not initially sure of a cause for the fire but they were looking at the furnace.
