Some fans are feeling shortchanged after rap artist Lil Boosie failed to show up for his Omaha concert Friday night. They're wondering about refunds and even if their tickets are legit.
"It was like one cop against a mob of people," says Brittni Case, who watched from the balcony of Sokol Auditorium when concert-goers heard the headlining act was a no-show.
"He was like, I swear to God, I'm not a liar, but the jet wasn't in on time. He's still in Chicago. That's when people started throwing beer bottles, the cups of ice. They were throwing stiletto shoes. They were throwing microphones, brushes."
When the crowd heard Lil Boosie, born Torrance Hatch, wasn't coming, Case says they rushed the stage and then went after people selling tickets, demanding their money back.
“I think everybody had their right to be mad, but it just got out of control. In the beginning it was just fine and then it just went out of control in the end."
After the crowd rushed the stage, they moved outside where police closed off the intersection of 13th and Martha. Two people were arrested for disorderly conduct.
Case called Ticketmaster Saturday about a refund, but found out there was something wrong with her ticket. It looks real, but it feels thinner and it's not printed on the usual kind of paper.
"We can't get our money back,” says Case. “I called Ticketmaster, they said it's a duplicate of their ticket 'cause I read everything that's said on the ticket and I was like, okay, what can you do? But they're like we can try to get our money back, but the management said he was supposed to be here two weeks ago and those tickets are two weeks old."
Channel 6 News was unable to contact the concert's promoter or any officials at Ticketmaster. It's still unclear if anyone will get a refund and who is making a profit from the non-concert.
