Update: 14-year-old Says He Was Assaulted
A 14-year-old male tells the Douglas County Sheriff an SUV with four people inside pulled up to him outside Beadle Middle School on Wednesday and the one wearing a Halloween mask started to make fun of him. After a fight, one of the teens in the vehicle has been ticketed for misdemeanor assault.
According to officials with the Douglas County Sheriff's office, the passenger got out of the SUV and took a swing. The victim says he punched back, and the assailant hit him in the eye and the back of the head.
Investigators say the victim has some martial arts training. He has a black eye and is expected to be okay.
A Millard West student, who is 16, has been ticketed for misdemeanor assault.
Investigators say he showed up with his parents at the sheriff's office and expressed remorse.
During the scuffle, the others in the SUV drove away. The fight ended then because the suspect ran after his ride. He caught up to it at a traffic signal.
