14-Year-Old Arrested For Robbery

An anonymous call to police about a suspicious car leads to the arrest of two and could possibly solve some recent robberies -- one of the people arrested is a 14-year-old boy.

The caller directed officers to the St. James Manor Apartments at 61st and Spencer. A second call told responding officers one person was possibly armed.

When officers arrived they found one man inside the vehicle another a short distance away. Turns out the car was stolen on Tuesday night and may have been used in a Wednesday robbery.

Lt. Marcia Janucik says, "Detectives are checking to see if the vehicle was used in any other crimes over the last couple of days."

The car is a white Ford Thunderbird.

Omaha Police say a 14-year-old was arrested for the robbery of the Max I Walker at 59th and Maple on Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier on Thursday, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle believed to be involved in this robbery. Two parties were transported to Central Headquarters for questioning.

At this time, one 14-year-old male has been arrested for Robbery and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.

In that Max-I-Walker case, a suspect entered the dry cleaner showing two firearms.

No word on the second person near the vehicle on Thursday.

Council Bluffs detectives are also looking at some of that city's most recent robberies.
