A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for areas west of Omaha until 11 p.m.; however, the metro area will likely have thunderstorms on and off throughout the overnight.
President Bush addressed a crowd of supporters at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs Monday afternoon as part of his latest swing through the key state of Iowa a week before the election.
Air Force One touched down just before 2:00 p.m., several minutes ahead of schedule.
Mr. Bush was accompanied by First Lady Laura Bush and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
The president focused on his differences with Democrat John Kerry on the war in Iraq and the war on terrorism.
During the rally Bush said Kerry has the, "wrong strategy for the wrong country and the wrong time."
Bush said, "if we fail, our children and grandchildren will live in a nightmare world of danger." He went on to say that, "that doesn't have to happen."
The president addressed supporters here and moved on to eastern Iowa to continue the last minute appeal for votes in the Hawkeye state.
Air Force One left Offutt at 4:18 p.m. bound for Davenport.
