A UNO tradition returns to campus, ignited by the ringing of the school’s Bell Tower. As it has for the past 14 years, it sounded the start of the annual “Bell Tower Challenge.”

Using cans of food, students and faculty stacked cans to compete for most creative display, most cans stacked and most enthusiastic group.

But it’s the Food Bank that benefits in the end.

Throughout the years, more than 18 tons worth of canned food has been donated. Now they can add another 2,756 pounds to the total.

The Food Bank helps approximately 360 agencies in Nebraska and Western Iowa.
